As the late C.K Prahalad (TiE Charter Member and one of the greatest business strategist thinkers the world has ever produced) mentioned “the quest is to develop a capitalism that puts the individual at the center of the universe, placing employees and customers first so that they can benefit shareholders”. This is a lofty if improbable goal. But if it is attained, business leaders may find that a country’s biggest impact on the global economy may be on the way executives think.
TiE is a global, not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurs across its international network sponsored by top Venture Capital Firms, and Fortune 500 corporations; spread across 53 chapters in 12 countries comprising 1800 experienced entrepreneurs and business executives as charter members, 12000 aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals as members. TiE has grown to become the world’s largest non-profit organization for entrepreneurs.
TiE Detroit is a non-profit organization that believes in the growth of entrepreneurial ecosystem – a cycle that is founded in the concept of giving and sharing knowledge, resources and mentorship. It teaches companies and entrepreneurs to practice good business karma. The benefits are a better reputation, more loyal customers and employees, and other like-minded companies offering you the same courtesies. Good business karma is just a way of getting business results while enjoying the ride, and doing your part to create a world where people give to each other. When we think about karma or the golden rule, we tend to focus on minimizing the “bad” stuff we do in the name of getting less of it back.
